Final
Information about the final presentations and paper project is found below. The schedule for final presentations is as follows
Date range | Groups |
---|---|
12/1 | Inverted pendulum, Inelastic bouncing ball, Chaotic faucet |
12/6 | Synchronization, ferrofluid |
12/8 | Plinko chaos, faraday waves |
General information
The final consists of a written 5-10 page paper and a 20-30 minute presentation to be completed by each group. We expect the paper and presentations to clearly describe the background, theory, experiment, and results. Remember experiment do not always work as expected, but often times it is the failures that are most interesting. Therefore we are interested in learning about all aspects of the experimental process, what ''worked'' and what ''did not work''.
Presentations
Paper
The paper portion of the final project should consist of a 5-10 page journal style article describing the laboratory experiment performed. The paper will be written in the style of the journal http://chaos.aip.org/. Detailed instructions below
Papers should be self contained research articles containing

- background and theoretical predictions
- experimental methods
- results
- discussion of results
- conclusion
